Ethnic (adj.) A label applied to a foreigner as a kind of politically correct racism.
When people say "ethnic" they leverage the tendency of groups to build their necessary self-identity around distinct language, food, dress, and behavior. In the white vernacular, "ethnic" means "dark skinned". See ethnic food.
